Current Schedule

Map_Iceland

Good morning!  I am up super early today as a result of a former work schedule in which I would leave my house at 5:30 a.m.  Even though I am no longer required to get up for work, I haven’t been able to kick the habit of rising before the sun just yet.  And ironically, I have found getting up this early doesn’t feel quite so bad this side of employment.  Funny, huh?  Anyways, I decided that I would use this time to give you all some information about our current trip plans and schedule, in case you are interested.

First, our trip is essentially divided into two halves.  The first half of the year will be spent primarily in Europe and northern Africa.  We will be coming back state side for Christmas and New Years.  Then, after ringing in 2017 and eating my body-weight in Skyline and goetta, we will be setting off again for Southeast Asia.  Throughout the spring and summer we will make our way down to Australia and New Zealand.  We will then make our way over to round out the trip in South America.  Generally speaking, we are trying to keep our itinerary somewhat flexible.  This will allow us to decide where we want to go on the day, cut down on some of the planning stress (unless one of us is super Type A, in which case this will be a DISASTER), and add an element of spontaneity to the trip.  Most of our fixed plans are a result of friends and family coming for a visit.  And, most of them are happening while we are in Europe.  For some reason there weren’t as many people anxious to meet us in Asia J.  Any dates not specifically mentioned below are unplanned at this point.  So let’s see what we have so far:

July 24: Leave for our year abroad (HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP HOLY CRAP)

July 25-31:  Iceland – Reykjavik and the Ring Road

July 31- Aug 4: Nice, France

August 18-21: St. Polten, Austria for the Frequency Festival (EDM fest)

August 27-31: Rome & Naples, Italy

September 1-2: Athens, Greece

September 2-3: Santorini, Greece

September 3-10: Sailboat Tour of the Greeks Isles

September 30 – October 3: Munich, Germany for Oktoberfest

October 3-9: Paris & Versailles, France

October 22-25: Amsterdam, Netherlands

October 25-31: London, England and Bengals Football Game

October 31-Nov 6: Porto & Lisbon, Portugal

December 21ish: Fly back to the U.S.

January 4ish: Head for Southeast Asia (maybe Japan first?)

March 12-13: India for Holi (probably spend more time here as well)

Now, I’d like to note that these plan are preliminary, pending Supervisory Office review (shout out to my OCC friends, if any cared to read this).  However, if you are going to be in the area, and by that I mean the continent, send us a message or leave a comment and we would LOVE to try and meet up.
